Wil Milton on the Kinky show

Wil Milton started his Deejaying career at the age 12, playing outdoors at the infamous Queensbridge Park in New York City during the early eighties.  Although Queensbridge is currently known as today¹s growing hip-hop community, he has helped establish this progression. Wil was one of the Disk Jockeys during the eighties era providing dubs and break beats to Queensbridge¹s hardcore rappers.  Back when digital sequencers, drum machines and technological samplers did not exist, he relied on two turntables to manipulate the grooves of soul and funk classics.  Many people in the community admired WM for acquiring such a huge collection of music, especially at a very young age.  As technology made its impact on dance music, house music was in popular demand, which to Wil is the rebirth of the Salsoul Orchestra. Philadelphia International and Motown sounds.  Wil was very accustomed to this new genre of music, pure soulful music. He has been blessed to play in New York¹s top leading clubs such as The Shelter (nyc), House Nation, Wild Pitch, Touch Tuesday, and Together In Spirit.  All of these parties were, and will continue to be successful venues.  Just last year he played for New YorkŒs very own radio station 98.7 Kiss FM classic show, where he was featured for two hours showcasing the hottest music for millions of listeners.
He also had the opportunity to play with his fellow DJ mates, DJ¹s Basil, Manski, Camacho, Nick Jones, Little Louie Vega, Kim Lightfoot, Ron Trent, Francois K, opened for Timmy Regisford, as well as many who are familiar faces around the world.  Many have asked what makes Wil Milton unique from other D.J¹s. For those who know of him, knows that he is a serious risk taker, and is capable of capturing the hearts of many people through the essence of dancing.  His uniqueness comes from telling a story of vocals during his magical sets.  You can catch Wil Milton in New York City, as he holds his weekly residence at Together In Spirit (nyc).
If Wil is not in the D.J¹s booth he is in the recording studio. He has worked with many artists and songwriters of yesterday and today.  He is formerly of the New Jersey production team Smack Production, who brought to the world Adeva, Michael Watford, and Colonial Abrams.  When branching from Smack, he had the opportunity of working with Jody Watley with her comeback song I Love to Love for MAW Records, and Shawnee Taylor, and is now working with King Street Records, WestEnd Records doing remixes and original sound recordings. There will never be another Larry Levan, but Wil has managed to keep the spirit of Larry alive, which is to educate and express oneself as music lovers.

Kinky Productions-every Thursday-from 11:00 pm-1:00 am EST - House, classics.
