Her world is the musical land of Liquid Sound Lounge (LSL) that encompasses a dance radio show (est. 1993) in NYC, marketing company (est. 1995) (clients: Jamiroquai, Masters at Work, Hooverphonic, Groove Collective+more), record label(est. 1995) (artists include: Louie Balo, 95 North, Victor Simonelli, Pound Boys, Groove Collective+more), annual boat cruise series of parties in the summer in NYC and an ever growing gigography of DJ gigs locally, nationally and internationally. From her monthly sets at Shelter NYC to regular gigs at Bridge and Tunnel club in London Hopper's spun with them all, from Little Louie Vega to Danny Tenaglia.
Hopper's DJ style is unique in that she creates a musical alchemy of varying soul infused dance styles that are described as funky, jazzy, afro, latin, breaky, groovy, vocal laden, US garage, westcoast deep rhythms too the unique styles of New York, Chicago and Detroit. A smorgasbord of booty shaking dance floor fun. Hopper can hold it down spinning to crowds of 300 capacity, to 3,000 capacity to 20,000 people in an outdoor festival setting. Her passion and feel for the music comes organically from years of dancing to these many DJ's she considers her mentors and is now honored to be recognized by and to DJ with.
Hopper's the radio host as well as the DJ for her radio show Liquid Sound lounge. Her radio voice is described as soothing, warm and sexy. She started performing her poetry and writings in collaboration with dance producers including Romain and Jon Cutler with "This Track" Released on Music Station and "Deja Vu" released on King Street, Victor Simonelli with "How Many Tears" released on West Side and as of late with Louie BALO with their latest release being "Guiding Light" and the follow up "Telepathy" released on LSL recordings. She's one half of the Bell-Hop team that is Hopper and Vicki Bell. Bell-Hop has done remixes for Groove Collective and Astronauts of Antiquity and as of late are working on a remix for Keith Thompson and continue to collaborate on a full length album of original music to be released in the near future. Hopper will mix the new BLAZE album being created for LIFEBEAT upon its completion slated to be released summer 2003. Hopper will release the LSL collection as a double CD mix 2003/04. She's mixing the HipBone records collection slated for release in 2003/04. Hopper's also compiling a mix for DJ Spooky's new record label that will show the other side of her musical tastes bringing together a whole range of multi-rhythmic undiscovered musical gems. She's producing a compilation series under a not for profit organization she is currently creating where the procedes will go to assist such organizations as Pacifica Broadcasting Community Radio Network, Drug Policy Alliance, Electronic Music Defense Fund.
