Jeannie Hopper at the Deep Soulful House Plus Hour show

Her world is the musical land of Liquid Sound Lounge (LSL) that encompasses a dance radio show (est.
1993) in NYC, marketing company (est. 1995) (clients: Jamiroquai,
Masters at Work, Hooverphonic, Groove Collective+more), record label(est.
1995) (artists include: Louie Balo, 95 North, Victor Simonelli, Pound Boys,
Groove Collective+more), annual boat cruise series of parties in the summer
in NYC and an ever growing gigography of DJ gigs locally, nationally and
internationally. From her monthly sets at Shelter NYC to regular gigs at Bridge and Tunnel club in London
Hopper's spun with them all, from Little Louie Vega to Danny Tenaglia.
Hopper's DJ style is unique in that she creates a musical alchemy of
varying soul infused dance styles that are described as funky, jazzy, afro,
latin, breaky, groovy, vocal laden, US garage, westcoast deep rhythms too
the unique styles of New York, Chicago and Detroit. A smorgasbord of booty
shaking dance floor fun. Hopper can hold it down spinning to crowds of 300
capacity, to 3,000 capacity to 20,000 people in an outdoor festival
setting. Her passion and feel for the music comes organically from years
of dancing to these many DJ's she considers her mentors and is now honored
to be recognized by and to DJ with.
Hopper's the radio host as well as the DJ for her radio show Liquid Sound
lounge. Her radio voice is described as soothing, warm and sexy. She
started performing her poetry and writings in collaboration with dance
producers including Romain and Jon Cutler with "This Track" Released on
Music Station and "Deja Vu" released on King Street, Victor Simonelli with
"How Many Tears" released on West Side and as of late with Louie BALO with
their latest release being "Guiding Light" and the follow up "Telepathy"
released on LSL recordings. She's one half of the Bell-Hop team that is Hopper and
Vicki Bell. Bell-Hop has done remixes for Groove Collective and Astronauts
of Antiquity and as of late are working on a remix for Keith Thompson
and continue to collaborate on a full length album of original music to be released in the near future.
Hopper will mix the new BLAZE album being created for LIFEBEAT upon its
completion slated to be released summer 2003. Hopper will
release the LSL collection as a double CD mix 2003/04. She's mixing the
HipBone records collection slated for release in 2003/04. Hopper's also
compiling a mix for DJ Spooky's new record label that will show the other
side of her musical tastes bringing together a whole range of
multi-rhythmic undiscovered musical gems. She's producing a compilation
series under a not for profit organization she is currently creating where
the procedes will go to assist such organizations as Pacifica Broadcasting
Community Radio Network, Drug Policy Alliance, Electronic Music Defense
