A Word From Dan

Here we are back again with another exciting week and brand new shows and events.
It`s half past five AM right now, and I am kind of brain dead typing this down, so i`ll make this brief before I collapse.
3 major NYC night clubs are threatened to close down, and this looks to me like the beginning of a new dark era in NYC`s night life. "the city that never sleeps" looks like its gotten tired already after the first shut down of famous night club TWILO back in 2000, and then Limelight. three years later and it looks like nothing has changed much, in fact probably got worse.
It`s getting tougher and tougher, almost impossible to have a good night out due to the regulations and restrictions of the big city. Both the big dance clubs as well as the smaller ones are taking the toll.
Despite all of that Downshift DJs are on the roll this week with six events, including a special DSR event at BLO, Agent Orange`s new residency, at the Sullivan Room. So enjoy them while you can.
Special thank you goes out to DJ Spice from Greece, and our biggest fan in Boston, Diane. Much respect.
Keep those fan mails coming, heck, send some hate mail if you have to, and tune in for some of the best shows we gathered for you this week.
As always,
Keep em dancin.
Dan Bino.

Kinky Productions presents:
The return of The MEGAMEN
A special treat for all you old DSR fans.
Those of you who have been following DSR for the past year and a half, probably remember Friday nights as "The Ghetto Soul Session" nights with hosts DJ Dimension and Will rosario AKA The Mega Men. for those who weren`t around...read on!
Squaring off, on one side there's DJ Dimension, ten-year veteran DJ, and professional producer. While on the other side there is William Rosario, Strictly Rhythm artist, renowned mixer, and also a veteran DJ. Sounds like any of a thousand talented musicians in NY, but the real story comes in the magic they create when they team up as the ŒMega Men¹.
Born in New York, the Mega Men jumped right into success with a release on the BML/Strictly Rhythm label.
At age 13, Dimension began DJing local clubs and events. While his popularity continued to grow, it wasn't until 1997 that Dimension took the next step and started to produce.
William Rosario also found music at a young age. "My cousin was a DJ and he got me open with the old school Hip Hop. I was about 11 years old." Will produced many styles including Hip Hop, Party Breaks and Drum N Bass on labels like AV8 and Nervous Records.
After many releases and a meeting with Dimension, the 'Mega Men' were born. Since then, they've turned out numerous projects and records together. Occasionally working with other artists and vocalists, such as Jon Robinson, Duane Harden, Henry Maldonado and Big Ro, the duo can also be heard under the aliases Ghetto Stylez and Soul Symphony.
The two label their music as "Different, Unique, A blend of Old School with a bit of Urban Soul."
The Kinky show-hosted by Doug G and Omar Herrera-Thursdays from 11:00 PM - 1:00 AM - House, Deep, Soulful.
