For all of you local listeners, don't forget to check out Mixmaster Tony Draper on his new residency at Webster Hall starting this Friday night. Tony's been at it for quite awhile and despite all the rumors he is still at his peak. So if you're a big fan of hard beats and ecstasy filled atmospheres, look nowhere else.

Throughout history there have been those who have taught us many things. Those stand out individuals are what make the world a better place, while creating a life for themselves that relies on truth, honor, and passion. Teaching us a thing or two in life and behind the turntables while igniting us with renewed passion is DJ SPIN DOCTOR. Perhaps not yet part of history, yet creating a niche for himself, SPIN DOCTOR got his start 13 years ago while fiddling with his brother's old DJ equipment, he was hooked right from the start and wanted to turn his passion to a career. At 24, SPIN DOCTOR, also know as Sal Mastro continues to rock audiences all across New York, from small events to huge clubs. SPIN DOCTOR's style of spinning is unique, blending many styles of HiNRG, Hard and Progressive House. He is a storyteller, most noted for his powerful mixes. His main inspirations are Tony Draper and Jonathan Peters. Perhaps you have seen SPIN DOCTOR in action, for those who have they never forget what this Doc can do.
As of today, the SPIN DOCTOR is residing in NY, Long Island Area, currently devoting his free time to perfecting his mixes and producing the next world hit at his production lab.

Dotted Line Records showcase special



On Friday, November 7th, log on to www.downshiftradio.com and tune in to a special showcase of urban talent brought to you by "Dotted Line" records starting at 6:00pm EST.

Hosted by Sha, The Dotted line records showcase special features the talents of Rap artists and DJ skills. Rappin', rhymin', cuttin' and mixin'.
This installment features MCs Juan "G-Rugged" Delgado, "OutDaFace Productions" and special guest DJ Wicked Wayne.
Dotted Line is comprised of head director Eli Gonzales (26, Brooklyn) and producer/rapper VC (26, North Carolina). Currently based in Queens NY, the two grew up listening to Hip-Hop music and have carried their passion of words and beats to professional standards.
Having honed their skills and fueled by their passion, Eli and VC emerged from east coast's Hip-Hop underground and captured the attention of rappers and DJs alike. The collaborative effort between these two individuals has resulted in the creation of Dotted Line studios and record label. Heading towards the future, Dotted Line look forward to becoming a permanent fixture in Hip-Hop Culture.

New Jersey's "best kept secret" Dave Davis is finally getting some recognition building a following for house music lovers over a 20 year span. Musical influences such as Tony Humphries, Timmy Regisford, "little" Louie Vega, Larry Levan, and Merlin Bob shaped his unique style.
Dave, a self taught DJ got his start in local clubs and venues in 1982. He has made guest appearances at some of the Tri-States hottest clubs including Club Zanzibar(NJ), Club Cheetah(NJ), Club 88(NJ), Scandals(NJ), China Club(NY), Filter 14(NY)and many more to name. In 1992 a radio personality/producer(98.3 WNMS FM) Andre "Dre" Young heard one of his mix tapes at "Movin Records" (Jersey's hottest record store at that time) and immediately got hooked on his vibe and track selection. Soon after Dave became the DJ for the "Club Mix Show" from 1992-1994.
In 1996 he started his production called "Platinum Sound Productions" and plans to release projects in early 2004. In 1998 he hooked up with long time friend DJ Hot Rod who was the resident DJ at club "Bogies" in East Orange, New Jersey he shared the residency until 1999. Later in July,1999 under his production and the promotion of Shelton Hayes they produced a venue called "THE BIGGEST PARTY OF THE SUMMER" hosted by Carloyn Byrd and featured artists Kenny Bobien and Kimara Lovelace. Dave is pursuing bookings around the world and is determined to obtain international recognition and continue to do what he does best and that is uplift the soul and refreshes the spirit with the "BEST" dance music on earth...

Element Media-special set



On Sunday, November 9th, log on to www.downshiftradio.com and tune in to the sounds of the Element Media collective, from 10:00 pm-12:00 am EST.

Element Media works as a collective of DJs, Musicians, Video Programmers and Graphic Artists. Using technology and musical synthesis, Element has provided a new approach to the DJ live show. Based in Long Island City Queens, a growing artistic community, Element works hard to take their parties to a new level. One can call it an art installation that belongs in MOMA, or an underground loft party in Williamsburg.
Element members include Fujin, Wreck and Dejae. Fujin who spins deep trance plus his own production, has played a role in pushing his blend of trance out of Taipei, Taiwan . Wreck hails from D.C and has played Drum & Bass at the legendary Buzz. Dejae From Long Island City spins Drum & Bass plus his own production and adds a conceptual take to his sets.
