A Word From Dan

This week's edition of the DSR guide wouldn't be complete without a special mention and a picture of the freshest newlyweds, Jeremias and Dawn Santiago.
After a very long and beautiful relationship period, Jeremias Santiago (FTL) and Dawn Marie decided to do what was natural and that is to tie the knot. And so, this past Saturday, September 6th the ceremony was held and the bells rang. And what a wedding it was.
Best of wishes and lots of love to the "For The Love" couple.

Hot, hot , hot! Our new release, "Fat Oscar" by Nick and John Dalagelis is getting rave reviews by "Satellite Records". Considered by most the official headquarters for dance music, the vinyl store behemoth picked up the record almost immediately and titled it as their "Plate of the week" on their website. Thank you Satellite for the great reviews and thanks to all of the loyal fans and music lovers who picked the record off the shelves.
That's it for me, I hope you enjoy the last days of summer and the special line of shows we had round up for you this week.
As always,
Keep 'em dancin'

Downshiftradio will shut off on Thursday, September 11th in memory of the tragic events of September 11th 2001.

DJ Bookings online presents-The Creator

On Friday, September 12th, Tune in to listen to a special DJBookingsonline presentation featuring the sounds of Creator, starting 10:00 pm-12:00 am.
For the Creator It all began in 92 when he attended the largest storm rave in Maspeth Queens, in the music and atmosphere of this single party was the catalyst of his inspiration and marks the starting point of his growing career. Encouraged by his new love, the Creator accompanied by Dave the Rave and DJ Grim formulated Park Rave Crew and
began holding outlaw parties at parks to glorify house and techno music.
While still projecting outlaws, the Creator made his way to become resident DJ at a prominent club in Long Island called Club Caffeine. In accordance with the
Creator, Micro, Frankie Bones, Dave Trance, That Kid Chris and James Christian were amongst the DJs featured at the notorious Caffeine Club.
Dedicated to the music, the Creator and the newly conceived Park Rave Crew presented their first warehouse jam called "Electric". The Creator continued to coordinate underground warehouse parties while still pursuing his DJ career. His parties began to elevate and transform. Soon enough Creator and his dedicated crew found themselves playing in parties for thousands of attendees. Some of the most memorable ones and definitely landmarks in NY history of the rave scene are the Fantasia series parties, Sonic Boom, Circus and Electric Circus, which was held at the Madison Square Garden.
Expanding their vocation, The Creator and company exploded onto the west coast, with "One Voice", "Willow" and "Corrosive" with artists such as Frankie Bones, Adam X and
Joey Beltram. Throughout this time, The Creator continued to flourish as a performing artist performing at events all over the world.
Traveling the globe enabled him to reach a diverse audience while increasing his recognition.
Undoubtedly, this brilliant performer/coordinator has left his mark on the industry. At the present time, he continues his career as an artist with a recent performance worth noting at the Electronic Music Festival in Detroit. As an event coordinator, DJ Creator remains a supporter of the NYC underground scene. His last event took place in the Flushing Airport Hangers Aug '03. Today, he is planning his next surprise to the world as once demonstrated in the past.

Kevin Russel`s "Hot Chocolate"

Kevin Russell and Arthur Wooten co-host this Bi-monthly event, featuring deep house, Nu-jazz, Funk and Rare grooves with special guests.
Kevin Russell`s music history started with a very big club called Bonds International, where he got his very first Lesson at how a DJ really works a crowd. He listened to Kenny Carpenter and thought, "damn, I love this scene". After that night he went through a relentless pursuit from Club to Club, until he finally found a home at the Legendary Paradise Garage and Club Zanzibar. Hearing Larry Levanæ at the Garage and Tee Scott at the Zanzibar was where he got most of his roots from.

Justin Schumacher-Special set

On Sunday, September 14th, tune in at 10:00pm-12:00 midnight to check out a special set by Justin Schumacher.
Although he's only been spinning for two and a half years, Justin Schumacher has developed naturally into a prime time performer. This 21 year old prodigy from Brooklyn, NY combines various styles of techno that are sure to rock any floor, whether it's bangin, deep, funky or multi-layered madness on three decks. Throw in flawless mixing and juggling, and you've got serious mood manipulation. A sigh of relief from the monotonous pounding you hear quite to often from recognized deejays. He has blessed the speakers at many of NYC's most well respected techno weekly's, and is hard at work for the Satellite Records website, keeping his box filled with the freshest tunes as well as those neglected gems from times past. With productions crowding his computer, it's only a matter of time before you see his name on the biggest flyers and in the box of every techno titan.
Justin Schumacher-Techno and breaks-September 14th from 10:00pm-12:00am EST.
