What did we have this summer in New-York... Well I mean besides the terror alerts and the high taxations. Why, while we had our electricity, it was non stop commercial free underground dance music mayhem on your favorite internet radio station-Downshiftradio.com. Well, we're not gonna end the summer without starting Autumn with a bang! So don't miss out on the excitement, starting with a new weekly show by Mixmaster Tony Draper (right after the very fine Dj Veryfine) and some more extra goodies. Jeremias Santiago (FTL) is also playing this week at "Happy Ending" with DJ/Producer Nicky P (Henry street/johnick) so don't be left behind.
More surprises coming up and a very special event that we simply can't reveal any information on just yet. Plus...who is DJ Cyber????

Tony Draper




















On Monday, August 31st from 10:00 pm-12:00 am Downshift welcomes back legendary DJ/Producer Tony Draper, on a brand new weekly show.
With a musical career dating back to the late eighties, equipped with a melodic love for rhythm, music achieves a new meaning when Dj/Producer Tony Draper comes on the set. Tony Draper's career came underway in 1988 with a residency at Avante, a night club in Tony's home city of Bayside, NY.
His combination of heart pounding beats and captivating tunes quickly had any audience hooked. Within a short time, Tony exploded onto the New York City club scene with guest appearances at legendary nightclubs such as the Palladium, Expo, U.S.A., Carbon, and the world famous Limelight.
In 1995, Tony became the resident dj at Metropolis, one of the largest night clubs in Queens, NY. This is where his striving passion for music was soon to be acknowledged. In 1997, with the support of club promoters Adam S. and Steve Zoomba, the Imagine party was conceived, and in 1998 brought to life. The venue chosen to fit this event was a newly renovated night club in the heard of New York City called Exit. With its massive size and breathtaking architecture, Exit was the perfect venue for this master of beats to take house music to a new level. For four years, DJ/Producer Tony Draper has continued to rock crowds of over 3,000 club goers weekly, leaving them speechless every time. At an astonishing pace, Tony climbed the ranks amongst New York's elite.
Throughout his four year residency at Exit, Tony also had guest appearances at world famous clubs such as the Sound Factory (nyc), the Roxy (nyc), Avalon (Boston), the Clevelander (Miami), and La Boom (Cancun).
Tony has shared the spotlight with many of the industries leading dj's such as Paul Oakenfold, Tiesto, Judge Jules, Tall Paul, George Acosta, and FunkMaster Flex (to name a few). He has released an array of production work on labels such as Galactic, Speed Limit, Indorphin, and Jelly Bean. With a collection of unreleased production work and a persistent drive to create music, expect more successful releases from Tony Draper in the future.

Josh Yuk-Special set


On Saturday, September 6th, Tune in to listen to the sounds of Boston's own Josh Yuk, starting 10:00 pm-12:00 am.
After being exposed to the smooth sounds of house music at the early age of 14, Josh realized that funky beats and soulful rhythms would consume his entire life.
Josh played his first large event in '96 at an event called "Return to Oz" in Connecticut and would continue playing regularly all over the east coast. His unique blend of Funky, Uplifting Disco House and uncanny ability to control the dance floor has allowed him to spread his vibe from San Diego to Toronto.
Joshua's tag team CD with Maxwell Edison entitled "Purity" has won the hearts of House heads, ravers and club kids alike, and is quickly creating a buzz all over the New England dance scene. Their CD has recently been featured on many websites including www.raveworld.net, www.selekta.com and www.decontrol.net.
Looking into 2003 Joshua's future only looks brighter seeing how he has landed a residency at "formula" Fridays. He has a new mix compilation release and a CD coming out on his label "Powerhouse Music". His banging track selection, high energy performances and determination has quickly seen him gaining popularity on a national level.

New show alert- Ori presents "La Pharmacie"


















On Thursday, September 4th and every other Thursday thereafter, tune in from 1:00-3:00 am to check out the sounds of Ori.
one with an ardent interest in high-fidelity sound production. Having become infected with the sounds of underground Techno and Tech-House at his early teens, Ori (29) displays his talent on a new Downshift showcase-"La Pharmacie". While still a staple on the air waves, Ori played at sets abroad, from his residency at Filter 14 to "Fetish" in Tel Aviv, Israel. He is inspired by Laurent Garnier and is part of the satellite faculty based in NYC. Get ready to prescribe to new drugs; Tech House, House and breaks, at "La Pharmacie" on Thursday nights.
Ori plays at Filter 14 this Friday, September 5th.
