A Word From Dan

New week, new shows and new surprises. Storming into your PC at work or in your bedroom. From Deep House and classics to Hardcore and Jungle, it all goes hand in hand in peace and harmony (or total chaos, depends on how you like it). Summer is almost ending and our second year anniversary is approaching (September 18th, or did you forget?). So stay tuned cause the best is yet to come. Don't forget to take a peek at this week's "Downshift Spotlight" featuring the one and only Jeremias Santiago of FTL. Jerry is one of the busiest cats around and not only did he find the time to take the interview but also gave us an exclusive track from the highly anticipated "Good old Dayz EP" pt 2. Read it, listen to it and don't forget to buy the record and support the artist. `nuff said.
that's it for now, till next time,
Keep 'em dancin',
Dan Bino

Downshift Spotlight-
Jeremias Santiago-FTL

With an incredibly long list of record releases, Jeremias Santiago is living proof that it takes a lot of hard work to make it in today's crazy music industry. With close to 30 record releases, most of which released in the past 2 years, 2 mix CDs and the casual gig routine, Jerry still finds time to fit Downshiftradio (the FTL show, every Saturday from 3-6:00 pm) into his hectic schedule and family life. "The Latin All Star" series, "Good Old Dayz" and "That's House" are considered by most cutting edge House and Soulful DJs to be Jerry's prime and according to the artist himself, you aint seen nothin' yet.
The following interview was conducted with Jeremias Santiago on Saturday, August 23rd at the Downshift studio, NY.
Read the full interview with Jeremias Santiago and listen to an FTL exclusive unreleased track
The FTL show - Saturdays - from 3-6:00 pm EST.

DJ Curtis Lee-special set

On Friday, August 29th from 10:00 pm-12:00 am check out the sounds of DJ Curtis Lee.
Born in Newark, NJ, aka Brick City, DJ Curtis Lee took inspiration from his idols, Frankie Crocker, Shep Pettibone, and Ken Spiderweb. Growing up listening to WBLS and 92KTU, Curtis soon started to record his favorite 70's/80's songs and build a collection of tapes. His passion to the music grew stronger and he decided to turn it into his career.
In 1988, Curtis relocated to Washington DC and soon after purchasing his first decks he got his first residency at the "Reggae Club House" (now known as Crossroads).
He then started working for several dance record music stores including "12" (now known as DJ HUT) and 8 Ball Records, all along performing in nightclubs including The Paradox, Club 5, Red, The DC Sanctuary, Tracks, State of the Union, Home, ZEIclub and Chamber of Sound, playing alongside Deep Dish, Victor Simonelli, Louie Vega, Ron Trent, Joe Clausell, Brett Dancer, DJ Oji, and Pope. He received international status with his performance at the Elysees Nightclub in Paris, France.
In 2003, Curtis Lee released his first single on Sanc-Soul Records, titled "Deep for Dance EP." feat. Mustafa Akbar of Odara Productions. This is the first of a long line of what Curtis calls "Groundbeat."
DJ Curtis Lee plays at the DC Sanctuary every 2nd Saturday of the month.
