Nicky P on Groovegetter Friday

One half of the infamous JohNick production team, born in Brooklyn and has been spinning since 1981. From the very beginning of music mixing came the natural urge to want to produce records, so he got together with his childhood friend Johnny D and started producing records in 1992. Their first track 'Heart and Soul (On Me)' was released on Undaground Groove and continued to release tracks on various labels such as MAW, Freeze, Music Plant, 4th floor, Sub Urban, AV8, Distant Music, Digital Dungeon.

A year later he and his partner Johnny D thought about opening a label that catered to the music they were producing. They started Henry Street Music, The label achieved great success with the release of The Bucketheads 'The Bomb' (Produced by Kenny Dope) that record and the label went on to make history as they released up and coming producers like DJ Sneak 'The Way', Armand Van Helden 'The Funk Phenomena', Terry Hunter, Mateo & Matos, Norty Cotto, Davidson Ospina, and of course, JohNick.

Continuing to release tracks under the JohNick moniker led to remixes by various artists such as R. Kelly, Joe, Changing Faces and Britney Spears. With the remixes and producing came the chance to take JohNick overseas to spin at such clubs as Ministry Of Sound and Bar Rhumba in London, Angels Of Love in Italy. Nicky continues to work on tracks that you've come to except, but look for 'new surprises' vocal productions, tracks that will have a different signature and more remixes to come.
