A Word From Dan
A month and 3 AC`s into the summer and Downshiftradio looks busier than ever. With more than 13 guests last week we had some great time and were happy to share our music with the world. from guest appearances by producer PQM to Hardcore specialist DJ Panik it was easy to confuse Downshift studio with a local lounge in Manhattan. Thanks for all the guests and party people who stopped by.
On our never ending quest to diversify and expand our musical structure we are happy to introduce a couple of newcomers to DSR land. The first is the multi talented DJ Hakan Albal who will be spinning world and ethnic dance music this coming Saturday at 6:00 pm (featuring the talented belly dancer KERRI O'NEILL performing live in the studio)and the second is DJ Juda who will be spinning some classic reggae cuts the same day from 10:00 pm till midnight. So sit back have a sip of that uzo, tune in and lets get together and feel alriiiiiight (someone needs to take Dan on vacation-Ed).

UG Sounds-Special set.
On Saturday, July 26th from 12:00 -2:00 am check out the sounds of the UGsounds crew.
Based in NJ the UG sounds crew consists of 15 DJs/Producers all devoted to the mission of spreading the word and their love for electronic dance music.
In this edition, Techno-House selectors Mentor (Tech House/ Techno) and DJ Rek (House/ Funky House) will showcase UGSounds abilities and skills behind the decks, on a 2 hour mega-jam.

Dj Hakan Albal-new show alert.
On Saturday, July 26th from 6:00 -8:00 pm check out the sounds of DJ/Producer Hakan Albal.
Born in istanbul, Turkey and spinning since 1984, DJ/Producer Hakan Albal has established himself as a unique DJ in NYC playing a fusion of world beat and Techno-House music.
From his mobile gigs to appearances at selected venues in the city Hakan created a big following, leading him to play for hundreds of people in packed clubs and lounges.
His first show will feature special belly dancer KERRI O'NEILL.

DJ Juda-special set.
On Saturday, July 26th from 10:00 pm-12:00 am check out the classic reggae sounds of DJ Juda.
This Flatbush, Brooklyn, New York native is a master of his own craft. Spinning and specializing in reggae music from a tender age, Juda has a style all his own. Taking it back
to the Roots. Giving people the finest of dud, lovers rock, and roots
reggae music. In his own words:"taking it back is never a thing of the past, it's all about taking it to the future".

David Oliva-Special set.
Born in brooklyn and raised in Long Island, David Oliva started DJing doing private gigs and block parties that inspired him to take his career more seriously and invade the big apple. Oliva`s style, sound, and moods are unique to the scene that he feels is an important aspect to life, his sets will bring you down and then raise you up again on a roller coaster of emotion and feeling.
Check him out as he spins hard progressive trance/house that`ll get you jumpin` and hoppin` all night long.
