A Word From Dan
Hey all,
I keep getting emails asking me what kind of music does Downshiftradio play the most? Well, there isn`t just one style. We play everything. A prime example would be our programs this week. Our week starts out with DJ Ral`s special tribute to the legendary latin singer Tito Puente. Then on to our very special guest, Disco pioneer Kenny Carpenter and continues through to the progressive sets of DJ Dimension and DJ Hiro. I don`t think you can get any better variety than that.
Battle fans! we have finally edited the recording of the Battle at the Duplex and it is now available for all on CDRom, we have limited amount of copies to give away (see at the bottom of this page) so hurry up and email us your address to receive yours.

On Monday, June 2nd from 7pm - 9pm, DJ Ral will be starting off the Puerto Rican Day Parade festivities with a tribute to Tito Puente during his Latin hour section. Make sure you tune in and hear the tunes that made this Puerto Rican icon the legend and force in our latin music today.

On Thursday june 5th, John Dalagelis will host special guest DJ Hiro.
Con-Fu-Sion parties resident DJ, DJ Hiro has played alongside house pioneers Tony Humphries, DJ Pierre, Junior Sanchez, Pepe Bradock, Angel Moraes, Satoshi Tomiie, and many more.
Teaming up with UK talents such as Peace Division and Don Grant Plant, led him to play abroad in Czech and Turnmills in London as well as in Greece and in Beirut.

Kenny Carpenter on the Soulful Hour Plus show
Legendary DJ/producer Kenny Carpenter is the guest this week on the Soulful Hour Plus show, Hosted by Jay Smoove and Rodney BX.
One DJ that can truly admit to being at the forefront of the house scene is Kenny Carpenter.
Studio 54 was New York's biggest and most outrageous nightclub, introducing the hedonistic excesses of club culture to Warhol, Jagger, Stallone, Jackson and many of America's stars and wannabees and a young Kenny Carpenter reigned the turntables in the early eighties where the excesses had already caught up with some, and the music took a deeper edge!
Fuelled by the underground disco of Larry Levan, Kenny played a mixture of disco, electro, garage and soul. As long as the dancefloor moved, music didn't need to have a name or genre!
The last two decades have seen Kenny establish himself as one of the worlds finest, spinning for Ministry Of Sound in London and various other top clubs throughout the world. A production career has also been forged, working for labels such as MAW and Wakko, but DJ skills is what Kenny will be most held in esteem for.
