A Word From Dan
Spring on DSR.
I don`t know about you, but I love spring season, the weather is great (most of the time-Ed), and there`s a certain vibe this time of year wherever you go...especially in the city.
that`s why we`re all super hyped over here at DSR, and want to bring you some of the best shows, events and music around this side of town.
First and foremost-our first record is out, and it features the sounds of Magnifica, with the single-"Funkular". Those of you who haven`t heard the record yet, check it out here, or at your local record stores.
We lined up a mini tour for the album and our first show will be at Liquid lounge (yep, that same spot we started our very first gigs last year), more details at the event listing section.
Second, Jeremias Santiago has just released the second "That`s House" LP under his FTL imprint, and it features 4 remixes by Downshiftradio producers, Jerry, The Megamen and The Meatcleaver. The record "That`s House-the Downshiftradio remixes" is out now on FTL.
Third, as most of you already know, the BATTLE AT THE DUPLEXX is all set and ready to take off.
On Friday, May 23rd, 18 DJs will battle for the title of dance floor supremacy.
That`s right 18 DJs divided into 6 teams will battle on two floors stacked with a killer sound system.
Brought to you by Doug "The Don King of the Battles" Gomez, Omar Herrera, and your favorite radio station online.
Featuring some of the top talents in underground and urban dance music.
There...those are our spring highlights. Of course if that wasn't enough we have our special line of shows rounded up day in and day out on the web.

Kevin Russel`s "Hot Chocolate"
Kevin Russell and Arthur Wooten co-host this Bi-monthly event, featuring deep house, Nu-jazz, Funk and Rare grooves.
This week`s guest is no other then legendary DJ Camacho.
Kevin Russell`s music history started with a very big club called Bonds International, where he got his very first Lesson at how a DJ really works a crowd. He listened to Kenny Carpenter and thought, "damn, I love this scene".
After that night he went through a relentless pursuit from Club to Club, until he finally found a home at the Legendary Paradise Garage and Club Zanzibar. Hearing Larry Levan at the Garage and Tee Scott at the Zanzibar was where he got most of his roots from.
Ever since 1983 Kevin has been playing in residential bars and clubs and spreading his love for the underground music.
Current project Hot Chocolate will feature Deep House, Rare Grooves and Funk, music programmed by Resident Kevin Russell and Friends streaming live audio & video at Downshiftradio.com.
Second show will be brewed on Saturday, May 3rd.
