Val Gurariy aka Dj Vagu has been introduced to electronic music in the summer of 2000 where he found himself almost every weekend inside the legendary club TWILO. He became obsessed with his new passion for dance music and by the end of 2001 acquired his first set of turntables. The next year found himself behind the decks playing at various loft parties around the city. He also held some guest spots at local weekly DIASPORA and MUZZY events around NYC.
Val's musical interests have progressively shifted from house to techno. His exposure to the live sets of Richie Hawtin and Magda and local beat pusher Plexus, have massively influenced his drive towards the sounds of minimal techno. Currently he plays minimal and deep techno, at times his sets progress from minimal house to tech house and a touch of funky techno electro.
Although his sets are rhythmic and catchy enough to move any crowd, there's always an element of pure experimentation that keeps the music sounding fresh and interesting.
