Music has been a part of Tom Pettit's life since the young age of nine, when he began playing the drums. Throughout his high school and college years he was a big fan of Old Skool Hip-Hop. His first introduction to electronic music came in the summer of 1997. After attending many parties, Tom became intrigued by the funky breakbeat sound. After a few vacations to Florida he had the desire to become a DJ. His good friends Si-Dog, Sully, and D-Lux points him in the right direction and within two short months he was matching beats. Six months after Tom began to DJ, he got his first booking as a resident DJ at Speak Easy, a local nightclub in Connecticut.
Tom Pettit has been heavily influenced by the sounds of Hybrid, Sasha, Digweed, Paul VanDyk and Ferry Corsten. His unique sound and flawless, intense mixing has given him the ability to rock a crowd anywhere and of any size. Tom enjoys many styles of music, but mostly is drawn to progressive, funky breaks and House. He is known for his signature sound of combining dirty-dark bass with funky beats and uplifting vocals. Tom Pettit's sound is guaranteed to keep you dancing for hours!
Tom Pettit has made numerous guest DJ appearances all over the East Coast, including CT, MA, SC and FL.he is currently a resident at Funktion Nightclub, New Haven, Ct.
Darude, Warp Brothers, Chris Fortier, Doc Martin, Andy Hughes, Rob-E, Cliff-T, Dirty Vegas, Jonathan Peters, and Jr. Vasquez are just a few of the DJ's that Tom Pettit has opened for in the past. Presently Tom Pettit is working on original production and is planning on releasing his first few tracks within the next year.
