Dan Bino and Ilya Lishinsky are Magnifica, two Producer/DJs who have combined their talents to create Electronic Dance Music. Ilya Lishinsky is a seasoned musician, songwriter and recording engineer, who has collaborated with top industry recording artists such as Mary J Blige, Angie Stone and Will Downing, among others. For at least a decade, Dan Bino has been professionally spinning and traveling around the world increasing his vast knowledge of music production. He has created Downshift radio, a one-stop studio catering to Electronic Dance Producers and DJs based in New York. It was at Downshift that Ilya and Dan met and decided to combine their talents under the guise of Magnifica. Their music introduces a fresh style of dance music; an alchemy of tribal percussion and progressive arpeggio builds, fused with melodic hooks. Using their state of the art recording facilities and relying on extensive skills in music production, Magnifica creates a distinct high quality product. Their first track, "Funkular", which was produced in less than 10 hours, was received with popular enthusiasm by the likes of Paul Van Dyk, Pete Tong and Tall Paul, to name a few. "Black is the Color" and "Yummy Fur" received equal response and were released on the Downshift imprint. Since then they have toured and played in major clubs including Exit, Discotheque and Centro Fly in New York City and Club Honey in Miami during the Winter Music Conference '04. Currently based in New York City, the duo are working on expanding their horizons by doing remix work for major and indie labels alike.
