DOUG GOMEZ
A hardcore music fanatic, Doug Gomez was influenced at a young age from the sounds of disco in the late 70's to the beginnings of hip hop music in the early 80's. But it wasnt untill the mid 80's that a hot latin sound came in known as freestyle that would set forth the inspiration for DJšing. In 1988, a new sound brought forth to the mainstream by a producer known as Todd Terry brought his greatest inspiration yet. This new sound known as HOUSE music set a new consciousness, a new style and thinking. A transformation that turned this young man from Queens life around.
During the early 90s, Doug Dj'ed @ colleges from Stonybrook In L.I to New York Tech in Brooklyn. At the time doing hiphop/reggae parties and doing house parties which were popular during the late 80šs to early 90s. But House music was his passion, and in 1995 he was hired by Ted Patterson(magic sessions Miami) at a new label called Waako Records. There he learned first hand what House music was about from the industry/business side and ultimately becoming the A&R/ promotions mgr. Also in 1999 he became promotions mgr for ZYX music, the German powerhouse. Since then Doug has been Djing at guest spots and ultimately doing his own party in 2000 which today has been revived with new found partner Omar Herrera. Doug wishes to thank his greatest inspirations, Todd Terry, MAW, John Robinson, Roger S., DJ Disciple, David Morales and the labels Trax records, DJ international, Strictly Rhythm, Maxi, emotive, Nugroove, Casual, Nervous, King Street and Quark, Friends Omar, Jerry Santiago, Megamen, Freddy "Tuna" Turner, Roman S(king street), Bob, Lisa and family, Harold, Jimmy, Dance Tracks, Alex J and all those who support.. DO YOU KNOW HOUSE?
